Frank Hurt

FrankFrank Hurt is the producer/director of my ESPN television series ‘Big Game Fishing the World’ and ‘Big Game Bites’.

Frank has contributed to my shows since 1998, but he has owned and operated Mountain Video Associates since 1982. His experience creating his own original TV programming, documentaries, and video projects includes not only producing and directing, but video taping, editing, animations, script writing, advertising, and marketing. His work has been honored with Telly and Addy Awards. He has worked with such notables as Walter Cronkite, Phil Donahue, basketball star Tim Duncan, and crewed live programs for Good Morning America, to name just a few.

His company now specializes in high definition television. In his spare time, he creates web site content for a few select clients.

When Frank joined my team for Big Game Fishing the World in ‘98, and the Billfishing Xtreme Release League when it was created in 2001, it was as cameraman on board the boats. But his talent as a director, organizer, and writer, quickly became apparent and led him to work more closely with me on shore. Frank and I are the only two people to be at every single BXRL event throughout it’s six year run. By the last season of the BXRL Frank was a well respected leader, and gravitated to his natural position of producer/director.

"Throughout the years, I’ve been involved in sports productions of one sort or another for every major TV network. In addition, living in the Virgin Islands for the past 30 years has allowed me to spend a great deal of time boating, so producing a sportsfishing show was right up my alley. I am fortunate to lead Norm’s production team and to help him continue his success as an industry leader."
