Big Game Fishing the World with Capt. Norm Isaacs is the longest running television show pertaining exclusively to offshore big game fishing in the world. The programs originated in Hawaii but after the first two years spread to other exotic fisheries worldwide.

Today, exciting episodes are aired on the ESPN networks that highlight every aspect of big game fishing. How to, where to and when to has been the recipe for success and have been fascinating the massive number of ESPN viewers both nationally and internationally for over 16 consecutive years.

Australia, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Hawaii, Mexico, Guatemala, Coast Rica, Panama, Venezuela, West Indies, Dominican Republic, USA, Bermuda and many more exotic locations provide the stage for the most exciting fishing episodes on television.

Delving into the yeas and neighs of the modern day sport fishing vessels and fishing gear “Big Game Fishing the World” provides insight for those contemplating a purchase. Likewise, being able to actually see what destinations are most desirable for fishermen and their families help in trip planning.

In the global sport fishing arena few stones are left unturned during the course of the typical 24 episode season.

4-06-08 St. Thomas, Virgin Islands The crew travels to the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to fish on the famous North Drop. The steep drop-off at this underwater ledge consistently produces large billfish.
4/13/2008 St. Thomas, Virgin Islands Captain Norm Isaacs takes first-time angler, Simone Vernicek to the Virgin Islands for an indoctrination into the world of Big Game Fishing. Just a few miles offshore, the world famous, North Drop yields a surprising amount and variety of billfish.
4/20/2008 Anegada, British Virgin Islands Captain Norm flies himself by small private aircraft to the remote island of Anegada, BVI to fish for wahoo. Accompanying him on this adventure is Adam Hahn, a demonstration pilot from Cirrus aircraft.
4/27/2008 Abaco, Bahamas This time Captain Norm fishes the waters of the northern Bahamas with his son, Darrin Isaacs and Capt. Chris Galati aboard the Team Galati tournament boat. Fishing out of Marsh Harbour, it’s the first time in the Abacos for both Norm and Darrin.
5-04-08 Jupiter, Florida Norm and marine artist, Carey Chen fish the Jupiter Billfish Tournament aboard the ”Topless” and employ the South Florida technique, kite fishing. This method is relatively new to Norm and Darrin Isaacs, but not to Carey and their experienced local crew.
5/11/2008 Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic Fishing aboard the Freedom, with Capt. Albert Miller and mate, Jimmy Brasher, Norm heads out south of the island of Hispaniola. Local fishermen have put out dozens of FAD’s, Fish Attracting Devices, that lure in game fish in surprising numbers.
5/18/2008 Coconut Grove, Florida Norm and Darrin Isaacs fish the Gulf Stream for swordfish with Capt. Ray Rosher. Generally caught at night, daytime fishing for swords in these waters is becoming more popular as local experts like Rosher develop successful techniques.
5/25/2008 Miami Beach, Florida Norm and Darrin Isaacs decide to see how easy they can make a day of fishing. Going for sailfish, they catch their own live bait near the marina and put them out on a couple of reels just offshore, without kites. Call this one “easy does it”.
6-01-08 Hamilton, Bermuda Captain Norm Isaacs travels to the island of Bermuda in pursuit of the giant blue marlin so often caught in these waters. Fishing aboard Paradise One, he is joined by Bermuda Premier, Dr. Ewart Brown.
6-08-08 Miami Beach, Florida In this show we go after sailfish off the coast of Miami Beach, Florida. Fishing aboard “King’s Ransom” with Christopher King, tournament chairman for the Miami Sailfish Cup, we employ a south Florida technique known as Kite Fishing.

BEHIND THE SCENES - CREW

On a football team the quarterback gets most of the glory but as we all know without a good line in front of him he would be turned into a glory-less waffle in short order. Much the same is true, without the physical trouncing, of the pitcher on a baseball team or the captain of a fishing boat. Television production is no different. The team gets it done or it doesn’t get done.

Over the last 17 years through my production company International Media Productions, Florida, I have been very fortunate to have knowledgeable and skilled folks making it possible for me to bring offshore action to ESPNs’ viewing audience. Directors, producers and cameramen are essential to any television production. To work offshore in what is often really unfriendly conditions takes a special breed. Skill, experience and crazy are required, not necessarily in that order. I think my guys are the best in the business. We don’t always agree on every point, where would the fun be in that however at the end of the day we are all always on the same page. In all the years we have yet to have a serious disagreement and that’s saying something because of the long hours and tough conditions that our team endures. Our production team consists of:
